Welcome Mariah Farran to the Colonel's Cupboard

Mariah Farran- VISTA, EKU Colonel's Cupboard

We are proud to introduce Mariah Farran as the new AmeriCorps VISTA for 2017-2018! Mariah is a 2015 graduate of EKU, and a current student in the Masters of Public Administration Program. During her time as a student, she was heavily involved with service activities and worked hard to make a difference in her community!

"In my undergrad at EKU, I had the chance to work with students through various organizations and jobs. Serving through AmeriCorps has given me the opportunity to serve different communities but of course EKU is my home and it is the community I chose to serve.  I have always been a service oriented person, and it nice to give back to University that has given so much to me. Now I’m given the chance to not only work with students but I also get the chance to serve them. The statistic of 1 in 6 student experience food insecurity on our campus is a statistic I want to see change by making the Colonel’s Cupboard a known resource on campus.  I also know that our students have the chance to learn about service by volunteering here, and I hope it helps create more students who want to be service oriented and hope they are willing to give back to their communities as well."- Mariah Farran, AmeriCorps VISTA, Colonel's Cupboard.
